About the event

“That’s what life is about: about daring greatly, about being in the arena.” - Brené Brown

Whether you're somewhat fresh to coaching or a seasoned professional, the Coaching Dojo offers a space to gain new knowledge, sharpen your abilities, receive constructive feedback, and learn from your peers. During these sessions we will introduce you to new concepts and ideas, and rotate through various coaching scenarios - applying real-world coaching practices, experimenting with new approaches, and engaging in rich, insightful discussions.

This upcoming dojo will dive us into the nuanced and impactful coaching skill of Goaltending – a term coined by Marcia Reynolds to describe the art of helping clients define, refine, and stay connected to meaningful goals throughout the coaching process. Goaltending is more than goal-setting – it’s an active, courageous, and creative practice of guiding the coaching conversation in service of true transformation. In this session we'll unpack how to:

  • Support clients in identifying goals that truly matter – goals rooted in values, purpose, and identity

  • Challenge and clarify goals that may be too vague, broad, or externally driven

  • Spot when the real goal is shifting mid-conversation – and how to navigate that shift with presence

What to expect from the Coaching Dojos:

  • New ideas: Each class will introduce you to a variety of approaches around key coaching competeces.

  • Peer coaching: You'll pair up with fellow coaches to practice coaching sessions on real-life challenges, offering you an opportunity to receive and give valuable feedback.

  • Skill development: Focus on key coaching skills such as active listening, maintaining presence, powerful questioning, coaching agreements and evoking awareness.

  • Growth and reflection: Reflect on your coaching style, identify areas for improvement, and set actionable goals for your professional growth based on the ICF core competencies.

  • Community support: Connect with other like-minded coaches, share experiences, and nurture a supportive network that will continue to support your development.

This session will be facilitated by our own Master Coach Trainers Pauliina Hallama and Master Coach Catharina Jilert.

This event is not just about learning, but about doing and becoming. We'll be co-creating a supportive environment, so come ready to practice, experiment, and leave with new insights to apply on your coaching journey. See you there!

P.S. Can’t make it live? No worries! Everyone who has signed up will receive a recording of the session afterwards.
